On November 16-17, 2024, the national finals of the 2024 Belt and Road Initiative and the BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition for Digital Practical Ability of New Business came to a successful conclusion in Shenzhen. Three students majoring in big data management and application in our college, Mao Fenglian, Song Yuhong and Tao Kai, won the third prize in the undergraduate group under the leadership of the instructor Luo Jianjun.

 The "Belt and Road Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition in BRICS Countries" was listed in the competition catalogue of "Analysis Report of National College Students' Competition" published by China Institute of Higher Education. It was sponsored by the Chinese Council of BRICS Business Council, the Belt and Road International Alliance for Skills Development in BRICS Countries, the "Belt and Road" and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Training Center of China Association for Science and Technology, jointly sponsored by China Invention Association and Chinese-foreign Humanities Exchange Center of Ministry of Education, and the Chinese Working Group on Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation of BRICS Business Council. The contest closely follows the core concept of "future skills create the future", focuses on the cutting-edge practice of new business digitalization, and comprehensively tests the players' ability in data analysis and digital thinking.

 There are about 1093 applicants in this contest, with a total of 401 teams. 952 contestants from 282 teams in 168 colleges and universities in 25 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government participated in the national trials, among which 85 teams from 49 colleges and universities advanced to the national finals.

 College leaders and instructors attach great importance to this competition, from the selection of participating teams to the training of professional skills, and then to the actual combat drills of simulated competitions, every link has devoted a lot of care and support. Since July 2024, under the careful guidance of the instructor, the team members have been trained hard for four months, and their data analysis ability and digital thinking have been continuously improved. In the national trials held in September, our team members Mao Fenglian, Song Yuhong and Tao Kai successfully advanced to the national finals with their solid professional knowledge and superb data analysis skills. In the fierce competition of the national finals, the participating teams in our college conducted in-depth and detailed analysis around the five core modules of digital analysis thinking design, data acquisition, data processing, data visualization analysis and data dashboard application, and submitted detailed analysis reports, showing excellent strength and excellent teamwork spirit, and finally won the third prize of the undergraduate group.

 In recent years, the School of Management has always adhered to the educational philosophy of "promoting learning by competition, promoting reform by competition, and promoting teaching by competition", and actively built a platform for students to participate in various academic competitions and practical activities, aiming at comprehensively improving students' practical ability and comprehensive quality. The first time I participated in the Belt and Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition, I won the national competition award. This honor is not only an affirmation of the individual abilities of the participating players, but also an recognition of the college's efforts in digital business education. This award further highlights the achievements made by the college in the training of digital talents in new business subjects, and also fully demonstrates the effectiveness of the college in innovative education and the improvement of students' comprehensive quality. In the future, the college will continue to deepen the reform of education and teaching, promote educational innovation, constantly explore the talent training mode that meets the needs of the times, and make unremitting efforts to train more high-quality business talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.
